The USS Khe Sanh, is named after the Battle of Khe Sanh ([link]) subsequently all the ships in the Battle Class are named after battles. Even though the class is larger then any battleship ever built and about the size of a Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier, Battle Class ships are classified as Guided Missile Battlecruisers. This is because they are dwarfs in comparison to the Mars Class Battleships. ([link])

Inspiration for some hull features came from Burke Flight IIa Class Guided Missle Destroyers.
